VIXEN: The Movie combines the first two seasons of the CW Seed digital series into a single uniform story and includes 15 minutes of all-new, never-before-seen content. The special features include a brand new featurette and two Vixen-focused episodes of Justice League Unlimited handpicked by Bruce Timm.
Overall Review: While she is a member of the Justice League from time to time, Vixen: The Movie suffers from a pacing issue. Her story arc is strong and intriguing, but it is weighted down by the drudgery. I hope that the next installment in her story will showcase more of who Vixen is rather than focusing on every other superhero and just cramming her story in. I give this film two out of five animal howls.
DVD Features: “Vixen: Spirit Animal” –featurette that focuses on how Vixen became who she is. It takes clips of interviews from producers to actors as well as showing glimpses into her past. This featurette does a nice job of showing an uninformed audience member more of who Vixen is. “Bruce Timm’s Top Picks” –these two episodes from Justice League Unlimited showcase Vixen in them as well. They are both strong episodes of the series, even without Vixen in them.
