The Northman is now on stunning 4k, Blu-ray, and digital! One of the most visually stunning films of this year loses very little in the take home version.
From visionary director Robert Eggers comes The Northman, an action-filled epic that follows a young Viking prince on his quest to avenge his father’s murder.
An all star cast including Alexander Skarsgård, Nicole Kidman, Ethan Hawke, and Anya Taylor-Joy execute the story with gritty intensity. Watching this film makes you long for those iconic series in which you visit the characters week after week. So much went into the costumes, makeup, and cinematography which can only be truly experienced at home in 4K.
Alexander Skarsgård has given us many memorable characters, but none to the level of Prince Amleth, who flees his homeland after witnessing a horrific act, only to return years later as a hardened Viking berserker determined to avenge the savagery inflicted upon his family. Revenge has never been more intense.
It was also a treat to see Anya Taylor-Joy (The Queens Gambit) in this film as well. Ss Olga of the Birch Forest her steel gaze and snow white features balance nicely with the settings and other characters.

THE NORTHMAN is rated R for strong bloody violence, some sexual content and nudity. The rating comes mainly from the intense savagery. Amleth is not playing around. Certainly a fantastic streaming purchase, or one for your 4K collection.
