The Gilded Age Season 2

The Gilded Age is back on MAX with season 2. My main complaint is that I have to wait seven days for each episode! Honestly one of my favorite shows currently on any streaming service.

Luckily we can rewatch – or watch for the first time – Season 1 in binge worthy fashion. Creator/writer/executive producer, Julian Fellowes is a master at capturing the heart of a time period and the class of people who lived it. Every detail from street to street and head to toe is expertly detailed.

E1 of season 2 gives us a nice reintroduction to the characters, and fills in a few gaps from season 1. The opening sequence reminds us why we love this show so much. If hats were ever a character and narrative we get it here. No doubt this season is going to be all about the opera, and I can’t wait to watch Bertha Russel (CARRIE COON) and Mrs. Astor (DONNA MURPHY) go at it for societal control.

About: The American Gilded Age was a period of immense economic change, great conflict between the old ways and brand new systems, and huge fortunes made and lost. From Oscar® and Emmy® winner Julian Fellowes, The Gilded Age follows a young woman who moves in with her old-money aunts and quickly gets entangled in the social war between them and their new-money neighbors. In a world on the brink of the modern age, will she follow the rules of society or forge her own path?
