Arguably the most powerful and emotional Star Wars film in the franchise. They say that IX THE RISE OF SKYWALKER is the last film but I can only hold out hope for something in the future. If this ends up being the final one I am not sure J.J Abrams and team could have given us anything better. This film contains the same heart and passion that has touched fans since the 1970s. Nostalgia pours from every pore while still elevating the effects and action to new world levels. If we had never heard of Star Wars this would be one of the better stand sci-fi action films to date. Fans will buy this one just to have and to hold. It will be watched again and again in my home as I share it with younger family members as well as popping it in from time to time the same way I have done with EP IV, V, and VI.
There are several special features and extras but by far the most amazing is the 2-hour full length “making of” documentary. A movie all its own it takes you deep on set to watch the filming, effects, and emotion that brought this project to life. You will sit at the table with the writers, climb aboard the props, and soar with the stunt team. Plus you hear from the cast and crew as they each share what is special to them about this project and the Star Wars Universe as a whole.
Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker is now on digital and hits Blu-ray and DVD March 31st from Walt Disney Home Video.
