A criminal mastermind unleashes a twisted form of justice in Spiral, the terrifying new chapter from the book of Saw. Working in the shadow of his father, an esteemed police veteran (Samuel L. Jackson), brash Detective Ezekiel “Zeke” Banks (Chris Rock) and his rookie partner (Max Minghella) take charge of a grisly investigation into murders that are eerily reminiscent of the city’s gruesome past. Unwittingly entrapped in a deepening mystery, Zeke finds himself at the center of the killer’s morbid game.
Commentary: The SAW series often gets lost in the midst of Friday the 13th, Halloween, and others. But when it comes to creativity and storytelling there are few films and franchises up to the level of SAW. Jigsaw is a very subtle killer and allows human nature to often drive the outcome of his sadistic plans. It is true that some in the franchise are weaker than others but as a whole it is a solid set. SPIRAL adds dimension that are fantastic to watch in 4K.

- VISUAL – Fantastic depth and color ratios. Dark scenes were crisp. There is a lot of creepy visuals in this one and nothing is missed out on. 4 out of 5
- AUDIO – Plenty of creeks and drips and drops to fill your surround speakers. Dialouge was mixed well. Decent balance between loud and soft sounds. 3.5 out of 5
- FEATURES – Plenty to choose from. I would have liked a commentary with the cast instead of the producers. If you have time, the director commentary is decent.
