Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is now streaming on Paramount Plus. This follow up to the 2020 film does not stray far from the original. It makes sense why they only added a 2 to the title. That is not a bad thing, and in fact with this type of movie it is a smart choice. What we want is a big dose of Sonic and Dr. Robotnik with a few fresh faces thrown in
In this one we meet Tails (Colleen O’Shaughnessey) and Knuckles (Idris Elba). Tails has come to warn Sonic of a possible attack while Knuckles has fallen in with Robotnik for an evil scheme. This new adventure is full of fast paced action and seamless graphics.
The message of what it means to be a hero is forefront as Sonic deals with his powers and calling. You can’t help but like the little guy and his sarcastic wit shines through as always. Elba was a great choice to voice Knuckles and brings a no nonsense, Luther type character to the Red guy. Knuckles is all business.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 can still be found in some local theaters. If you can see it there, even better. Luckily for everyone else it is on Paramount Plus and the perfect selection for family movie night.
