Synopsis: Inspired by remarkable true life rescue missions, THE RED SEA DIVING RESORT is the incredible story of a group of international agents and brave Ethiopians who in the early 80s used a deserted holiday retreat in Sudan as a front to smuggle thousands of refugees to Israel. The undercover team carrying out this mission is led by the charismatic Ari Kidron (Chris Evans) and courageous local Kabede Bimro (Michael Kenneth Williams). The prestigious cast also includes Haley Bennett, Alessandro Nivola, Michiel Huisman, Chris Chalk, Greg Kinnear and Ben Kingsley.

Review: Chris Evans leads an all star cast in this thrilling and engaging story of what it means to value the lives of others. Sadly the concept of refugees and oppression is not a thing of the past. This film takes a look at one particular mission in the late 70s and early 80s.  It is based on true events and expertly shot and crafted.

Although the subject matter is intense there are lighter moments that show the humanity of the individuals carrying out the mission. When it is go-time they are focused and determined. But they are also real people who love, laugh, and cry like any other. Seeing the realness in the characters helped elevate the danger of what they are doing. It is easy to look at them as super heroes (Evans especially) and forget that they are just flesh and blood. This is also encouraging and motivating to us all that if we see a need we should do all we can to help. Sure we arent all trained agents. But there is always a way to be involved.

You will see this pop up on your Netflix list and I highly recommend you checking it out.
