Psycho Killer Now on 4K Digital

A brutal showdown of revenge versus serial killing slashes through the 20th Century Studios film Psycho Killer, now on Digital including Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, and Fandango at Home.

A dark and twisted script from Andrew Kevin Walker (Se7en) comes to terrifying life in Psycho Killer, a gripping thriller that unfolds through dual perspectives – one tracking the menacing presence of a depraved murderer, the other following the focused, vengeful mind of the woman whose husband he killed. The film marks the directorial debut of renowned producer Gavin Polone, alongside producers behind Barbarian and Weapons, and features a powerful lead performance from Georgina Campbell (Barbarian), delivering a visceral cinematic experience that leaves a lasting impact.

Film Synopsis
Following the brutal murder of her husband, a Kansas highway patrol officer (Georgina Campbell) sets out on a journey to track down the perpetrator. As the hunt progresses, she comes to realize the man responsible (James Preston Rogers) is a sadistic serial killer, and the depth of his mental depravity and his sinister agenda is more twisted than anyone could have imagined.

MY TAKE AWAYS

This was a fairly straight forward script that was easy to follow and settle in to. Not a unique story but with enough intrigue to keep you engaged through out. Serial killer stories – in fiction or documentary fashion – are always in high demand, so this will appeal to those fans.

There is a high dose of satanic lore and content as the main character is drawn to the occult. Lots of rituals and graphics to add some depth and creep factor the the narrative. If you put any character in a mask it instantly elevates the chill factor, and this one uses that to its benefit.

It has a strong R rating due to language, violence, and the predictable satanic sex orgy. If not for the intense content this would feel like a made for cable TV offering.

Certainly not for everyone, but not a decent watch for those twisted cinephiles out there.
