Could it be that I am reluctant to tap into my feelings and fear any sort of emotional connection? Or maybe it has to do with their predictable, formulaic, manipulation, 🙂

ONWARD released on Disney + this weekend so I had no excuse not to watch it. I was not expecting the sweet, feel-good, bond that flowed through this one. Yes it is the formula we expect but having the journey be between brothers gave it a fresh perspective. I am an only child yet the power of the emotion was not lost on me. I can not imagine how impactful this would be for siblings. Add the possibility of a magical reunion with a lost loved one does make this Pixar film pretty special.

You can endure the weighty plot due to the whimsical characters and the magical spells. These two elven brothers (voiced by Tom Holland and Chris Pratt) are as different as night and day. They are united by this quest left to them by a father who died when they were both too young to remember. Along the way they learn that being family is more than just shared hobbies. Blood is indeed thicker than any other element.

If you have been on the fence about subscribing to Disney + I would encourage you to take that leap. It is one of the more inexpensive streaming services and have a lot of old and new films and shows to offer. The depth of the Disney catalogue is mind blowing. When you start deep diving into the options you will be amazed at how enormous it is. Now with the addition of ONWARD you have even another reason to tap into this programming. After all, it isn’t like you have anything else to do.
