I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE is one of those films that I remember trying to sneak past the clerk at the video rental counter when I was 12 or 13. I would get the same look as he would take it out of my stack and mumble something about having to be 18. The cover art and explicit warnings had me and my friends excited to see what was going on in this film. (additional commentary below)

(continued) This remarkable collectors edition had everything a cult fan would desire. As you can see above it has features, remastered imagery and sound, and a display worthy cover! I had forgotten many of the scenes in this one – our brain does protect us at times – and as an adult I am sort of glad that clerk kept it out of my teenaged hands. There has never been a revenge film like it and it certainly stands the test of time.

My favorite part of this entire set is the “Growing up with I Spit on Your Grave” feature. This is a fantastic behind the scenes look at the making of the film with interviews with the cast members now. These are 60 year old guys reliving the scenes and action. The talk about how they got the role and what it took to create those iconic scenes. For a film of this content it is often humorous now to hear them chat about it. It is certainly a must watch for not only fans of the film but those interested in filmmaking as a whole.

There is no doubt that this film is not for everyone. But those who are drawn to the genre and this type of film are already in line this Holiday season to grab a copy!
