Ghosted will premiere globally on Apple TV+ on April 21, 2023. In the world of Hulu, Netflix, HBO MAX, and others, Apple TV+ seems to get overlooked. Yet their caliber of original content – movies and series – is fantastic.
In their latest offering is a wonderful streaming option in story, cast, and filmmaking. Hands down one of the best action comedies of the year. We often think of “streaming only” as mediocre cinema, but that is not the case here. Ghosted holds its own with anything playing on the big screen today.
Synopsis: Salt-of-the-earth Cole (Chris Evans) falls head over heels for enigmatic Sadie (Ana de Armas) — but then makes the shocking discovery that she’s a secret agent. Before they can decide on a second date, Cole and Sadie are swept away on an international adventure to save the world.
Cole (Evans) is a far cry from Captain America. Sadly Chris is so aligned with Cap that it is hard to separate the two. Especially when he is playing a really nice, all American guy next door, farmer. He still says ma’am a lot. Sadie (Armas) steps out of the shadow of her dramatic roles to kick butt once again ala James Bond. One tag line for this film could be, “She would save the world if she wasn’t constantly having to save him”
