Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves is now streaming on Paramount+. D&D has gotten a bad wrap over the years. Even in the 80s I remember people preaching how demons would kill us if we played. Well, if you loved the game or never played, this movie is a lot of fun regardless.
Synopsis: A charming thief and a band of unlikely adventurers embark on an epic quest to retrieve a lost relic, but things go dangerously awry when they run afoul of the wrong people.
Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Justice Smith, Hugh Grant, and Sophia Lillis star in one of the most fun, action packed films you will see this year. It could easily have been called Wizards and Warriors. Sorcerers, druids and evil doers to make even Dumbledore take refuge are brought to colorful life in this adventure tale.
A film of epic proportions in the likes of LOTR, Game of Thrones, or Harry Potter. Sweeping landscapes and wonderful cinematography make for a beautiful backdrop. This is also a hilarious movie. The only thing that trumps the action is the humor. Witty one liners from fanciful characters give the script life. Pine gives us the same comedic timing as he did as Kirk in the Star Trek reboots. He balances the action and comedy so that it never feels toooo campy.
Edgin (Pine) and Holga (Rodriguez) are on a mission to find a relic, reunite with Edin’s daughter (Chloe Coleman), and most importantly stay alive. Films like this thrive on chemistry and a ragtag group of underdogs trying to overthrow an unbeatable entity. This has that and more.
Stream this one again and again on #Paramount +. Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves is rated PG-13 for fantasy action/violence and some language.
