Synopsis: When Mae (Watson) is hired to work for the world’s largest and most powerful tech and social media company, she sees it as an opportunity of a lifetime. As she rises through the ranks, she is encouraged by the company’s founder, Eamon Bailey (Hanks), to engage in a groundbreaking experiment that pushes the boundaries of privacy, ethics, and ultimately, her personal freedom. Her participation in the experiment and every decision she makes begin to affect the lives and future of her friends, family, and all of humanity.

Thoughts: This film did not do as well in the theater as I had hoped so it is exciting to see it releasing now on Blu-Ray and Digital HD. I enjoyed it on the big screen as the cast and imagery were both compelling and intriguing. Five years ago this film would have been science fiction but in the world we now live it is not only plausible but expected.

If you have not read the book I would recommend it as a companion to the film. It fills in some of the plot holes and gives you a deeper understanding into the characters and their decisions. As a renter I give this 4/5 passwords. If you missed it in the theaters check it out at home for sure.

There are a few features that are worth watching; especially the tribute to Paxton. He is missed for sure.
