A new FRASIER on Paramount +

A new FRASIER series has released on Paramount +. Kelsey Grammer returns as Dr. Frasier Crane, but this time back on the east coast. Now a successfully retired talk show host Crane has come to Boston to visit his son before taking off on an overseas trip.

Fans of Cheers and the original FRASIER series will be eager to watch this one. I was. In this day and age of reality TV it is exciting to get a scripted comedy, especially one with familiar roots. Even the annoying laugh track is tolerable; to a point. Yes it is show in front of a live audience which helps the timed haha’s, but you can also tell there is a lot of post production add ins.

Paramount+ has dropped two new episodes. This new series follows Frasier Crane (Kelsey Grammer) in the next chapter of his life as he returns to Boston, Massachusetts, with new challenges to face, new relationships to forge and an old dream or two to finally fulfill.

Other than Grammer there are no returning characters so far. all are ientuoned inthe first severa minutes of the show with E1 giving a very sweet tribute to Martin Crane who was played by the late John Mahoney. Like most fans I would hope that at some point we would have some cameos from past cast members.

This new series stars Jack Cutmore-Scott as Frasier’s son, Freddy; Nicholas Lyndhurst as Frasier’s old college buddy turned university professor, Alan; Toks Olagundoye as Alan’s colleague and head of the university psychology department, Olivia; Jess Salgueiro as Freddy’s roommate, Eve; and Anders Keith as Frasier’s nephew, David. David is the son of Miles Crane.

Like most sitcoms, the new FRASIER is one liner after one liner with easy to solve problems. The concern is if Grammer can carry the show without his normal team. Maybe we will grow to love the new characters as much. I am still holding out for some returning members.
